They partner with communities and design neighborhood-based projects and programs. The Cycling Center believes that all Portlanders should have the opportunity to choose healthy, active transportation.
STREETSBLOG. (NYC) Streetsblog is a daily news source connecting people to information about sustainable transportation and livable communities. Hundreds of thousands of readers rely on Streetsblog, and their online community serves as the connective fiber for people all over the country working to make their streets safer and more sustainable.
TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES / BIKE NYC. (NYC) Transportation Alternatives’ mission is to reclaim New York City's streets from the automobile and to promote bicycling, walking, public transit. With 100,000 active supporters and a committee of activists working locally in every borough, T.A. fights for the installation of infrastructure improvements that reduce speeding and traffic crashes, save lives and improve everyday transportation for all New Yorkers.
NEW DOOR VENTURES/PEDAL REVOLUTION. (SF) New Door Ventures prepares disconnected youth for work and life by providing skill-building workshops, individualized support from case managers, and paid internships that enable local disconnected youth to discover and achieve their potential. Their full service non-profit bike shop, Pedal Revolution, has trained over 150 high-risk youth from San Francisco and the surrounding area.
WORKING BIKES. (CHI) Working Bikes rescues discarded bicycles and gives them new life by redistributing them as tools of empowerment in local and global communities. By diverting bikes from landfills and providing them to those in need, Working Bikes hopes to build more sustainable, mobile, and healthy communities locally and globally.
BIKE WORKS. (SEA) Since 1996, Bike Works has worked to educate and empower youth, and make bicycling accessible and affordable to the Seattle community.
