The City Helmet Series : NYC

Introducing the second helmet in our City Helmet Series, a collaboration with the artists of ARTCRANK. Each helmet is a one-of-kind, hand-painted design created exclusively for The Bike Design Project.

NYC-Based Meera Lee Patel is a self-taught artist raised by the New Jersey shore, where she swam the bright waters and climbed cherry blossom trees until she grew old enough to draw them. Her illustrations are inspired by the magical mysteries of nature, the quiet stories that lace through everyday life, and the bold colors of her native India.

“The inspiration behind my design is rooted in the ever-expanding universe and the idea that we can take ourselves to their furthest stretches of our own worlds. My design traces the bike paths that stem from Prospect Park in the heart of Brooklyn, NY; each path is comprised of a series of constellations, a reminder that there is beauty everywhere, waiting to be discovered.”

::  Thanks to Nutcase Helmets for supplying the canvas. ::

On July 25, we’ll raffle this helmet off at our NYC bike design reveal party (held at The DUMBO Loft & Pearl Street Triangle) to benefit our bike advocacy partner, Transportation Alternatives.
