ABOUT THE TEAM
The University of Colorado, Boulder Graduate Design Program is focused on educating master’s degree students through hands-on design learning, with studio classes that focus on consumer product design and equip students with the tools necessary to compete in engineering and design.
Team leader Michael Cody was a professional road racer for Team Jelly Belly from 2006-2008 who also qualified for the 2004 U.S. Cyclocross Worlds team. After stints launching an ecommerce store for Slipstream Sports, running customer support for BikeReg.com and welding and laying up carbon fiber for James Frame, he enrolled in UCB’s design program, where he can straddle the creative analytical line and indulge his passion for getting his hands dirty with grease, resistors, sawdust, metal shavings and paint.
The program has partnered with J.P. Boylan, owner of James Frames in Boulder, to offer support and guidance in the production of their ultimate utility bike.
